Biking Across Kansas shouldn't be too tough, right? After all research shows that the state is flatter than a pancake. A big, hot, humid, WINDY pancake.
I don't know, I hate riding the bike path for more than 5 miles, because that's about all the flat I can stand. You need the occasional hills to break up all the tedium. Personally, I would go insane! And, as you said, the wind...
If you can get the wind behind you out on the plains, it is a blast! That happened the first year I rode BAK. The second time, the wind was from the southeast all week. Not so much fun.
