Remember when we rode our bikes through Colorado? That was awesome! Just got home from the sixth annual CRMBT. It just keeps getting better! I have to thank the organizers, Peter & Hillary, Kevin & Anne and all of the volunteers who do so much to feed us, keep us safe and on the right road, and always have a smile and some encouragement for this group that would willingly do this to themselves.
Theo and his boys make Sherpaville the place to be whether you're staying there or not. It really is a home away from home. Scott, the bike mechanic, fixed flats and other mechanicals, so we could keep on riding. The caterers always had a smile and a greeting. And the other riders, some who have been there many times, and some who joined this tour for the first time, what a great group of people to hang out with, eat with, laugh with, and commiserate with each evening.
My body is sore, but my jaw works great. I haven't been able to shut up about what a great time I had. My wife has been very patient, but I'll need to share stories and pictures with you over the next couple weeks so her patience doesn't run thin. Check back with me while I relive the tour from the trip out to Colorado, all the way to the finish in Pagosa Springs.
If you think this sounds like fun, come join us in Colorado next year!
I agree with you Jeff, a great week! With perfect weather (I started one day without arm warmers) and a great route, this had to be one of the better tours I've been on. Of course visiting with old friends and making new ones really is a big part of the week. Can't wait to see your pics and read the narrative of each day.
ReplyDeleteCool photos and nice Queen song!

I'm glad I found your blog. I was just in Colorado last week for the Copper Triangle and am already having withdrawals. The CRMBT is something I have considered doing sometime. Look forward to hearing more and seeing pics over the next couple weeks.
ReplyDeleteHey Jeff - Greetings from Littleton, Colorado. I've enjoyed your postings. You've captured the magic of the tour very well. Eat, Sleep, Ride, Repeat. What a great vacation.
